The Selston paedophile, Michael McCafferty, convicted of sexually abusing three girls has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Derbyshire Police reported that one of Michael McCafferty’s victims was under five years old when the abuse commenced in the 1990s.
A 74-year-old resident, Michael McCafferty, of Church Lane in Selston, Nottinghamshire, was convicted of four charges of indecent assault following a trial at Derby Crown Court.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday.
Michael McCafferty was convicted on three counts of producing obscene pictures of a minor.
Detective Constable Gavin Owen of Derbyshire Police commended the victims for their courage in coming forward, resulting in a conviction against Michael McCafferty, who will additionally serve one year on extended licence following his release.
“They exhibited remarkable bravery and maintained their resolve during an extensive investigation and trial,” he stated.
“I understand the significance of today’s sentencing for them, especially after Michael McCafferty subjected them to the additional trauma of a trial following his denial of the abuse he perpetrated.”
