Ryan O’Donnell Dumbiedykes Paedophile

An EXTREMIST PAEDOPHILE, Ryan O’Donnell, from Dumbiedyke in Edinburgh has been incarcerated for charges related to explosives and for possessing approximately 1,500 indecent photos of minors. Police (COPFS) would like us to know he is not a terrorist so no need to worry, he is just a criminal, apparently.

Ryan O’Donnell, 37, received a 44-month prison sentence after being apprehended with a number of chemicals potentially suitable for the production of improvised explosives. O’Donnell, who pleaded guilty to an infraction under the Explosive Substances Act on January 13, also acknowledged owning several indecent photos of children.

Ryan O’Donnell was registered on the Sex Offenders Register for a duration of 10 years and will be subject to supervision for 12 months post-release.

Ryan O’Donnell stored compounds such as potassium nitrate, nitrogen, and sulphur in his residence in Edinburgh. A rocket schematic blueprint was found with notebooks containing handwritten directions for the preparation of viable high explosive chemicals.

Information for constructing a homemade firework was discovered in conjunction with a Kinder egg containing a low explosive material. A total of 1.7 kg of improvised low explosive materials was discovered.

The court was informed that police officers found the items during a search of his Dumbiedykes apartment and Loanhead garage in April 2024. Law enforcement recovered three tablets that subsequently contained 1,492 indecent photographs of youngsters aged six to fourteen.

Moira Orr, who leads on major crime for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), said: “The substances that Ryan O’Donnell had in his possession could have been used to manufacture improvised explosive devices. They would have had the potential to cause significant harm to individuals and damage to property if used for criminal purposes.

“This case also demonstrates our commitment to prosecuting sexual offenders, using every tool at our disposal to secure justice. We have a duty to keep the people of Scotland safe from harm and working with police, government and other agencies, we are committed to ensuring that those involved in this type of offending are brought to justice.”
