A Paedophile sex offender from Maidstone, Lloyd Cundall, has been incarcerated following the detection of ‘invisible’ DNA at the crime scene by a police dog.
The Maidstone Child molester, Lloyd Cundall, manipulated his victim over social media and persuaded her to rendezvous in isolated locations in and around Quarry Road, including wooded areas and alleyways.
Once out of public sight, Lloyd Cundall persistently solicited the youngster with cocaine, cannabis, nitrous oxide balloons, and alcohol, subsequently coercing her to engage in sexual acts.
He was subsequently apprehended on 24 September 2024. During a preliminary inquiry, officers collected DNA evidence, imperceptible to the human eye, from one of the crime scenes with assistance from Police Dog Belle.
Lloyd Cundall was later indicted on eight charges of engaging in sexual contact with a minor.
Lloyd Cundall, 27, of Brenchley Road, subsequently entered a guilty plea at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced to seven years and six months’ imprisonment on 21 May 2025.
Upon release, Lloyd Cundall will undergo an extended licence period of four years and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 15 years.
Police Dog Belle promptly recognised DNA, which was imperceptible to the unaided eye and was essential to the case.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Laura Bowness, said:
‘A lengthy custodial sentence is fitting of Lloyd Cundall’s abhorrent crimes against a vulnerable young girl. He committed vile acts on his victim after plying her with drugs and alcohol to ensure compliance with his demands, with no thought to her physical, mental, psychological or emotional wellbeing.
‘He has maintained a complete lack of remorse for his actions throughout the entire investigation and court process. ‘Thanks to the victim’s support and for her timely reporting, detectives managed to secure crucial evidence for the case.
‘Adverse weather conditions initially left officers concerned evidence may have been washed away, but PD Belle was easily able to indicate where the offence took place. ‘We are so grateful for the victim’s bravery in speaking out about her ordeal and hope that Lloyd Cundall’s imprisonment brings her some closure.’
