A Sussex Police officer, PC Ryan Busby, is scheduled to appear in court on four counts of sexual assault by touching.

Subsequent to an inquiry, the Crown Prosecution Service sanctioned charges against PC Ryan Busby, 25, for offences involving four women with whom he was acquainted.

This purportedly transpired on 20 December 2024 while the officer was not on duty.

PC Ryan Busby is temporarily relieved of his responsibilities, ON FULL PAY. He is scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on 8 July.

The issue was submitted to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, which mandated a local inquiry by the force’s Professional Standards Department.

A Sussex Police officer, PC Ryan Busby, has admitted guilt to four charges of sexual assault by touching. PC Ryan Busby, 25, attended Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 8 July, and acknowledged the allegations during his initial appearance.

The court was informed that the offences transpired on 20 December 2024 during a social gathering involving four ladies acquainted with PC Ryan Busby, when he was off duty.

Upon reporting the offences, the matter was referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, which instructed that a local inquiry be carried out by the Professional Standards Department of the force. Subsequent to this inquiry, the Crown Prosecution Service sanctioned the charging of PC Ryan Busby.

PC Ryan Busby, currently suspended from duty, was granted court bail and is scheduled for sentencing at Staines Magistrates’ Court on 29 September.

Sussex Police will now continue with misconduct proceedings to see if PC Ryan Busby should be sacked or not.
