On 27 October, the victim was dining with friends in Bolton. Upon completion, she returned to her residence accompanied by several friends and the defendant, Bolton Rapist Adam Walton, to create Halloween decorations.
The victim fell asleep, but upon awakening, she found Adam Walton restraining her and assaulting her sexually.
Alarmed by the victim’s awakening and confrontation, Adam Walton promptly departed, prompting the victim to contact her friend and then her father, who instantly notified the police.
An inquiry commenced, and further analysis of Adam Walton’s phone disclosed communications indicating he was procuring cocaine and Viagra on the night of the assault. During interrogation by investigators, he exhibited no remorse and persistently attempted to justify his reprehensible conduct.
By entering a plea of not guilty and declining to acknowledge his crimes, he compelled our victim to publicly recount the events of that night during the trial. Due to her bravery, a sexual offender is now incarcerated.
Adam Walton (01/05/1988) of Bolton was convicted by a majority jury judgement and sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment.
Detective Constable Anna Skelton from Bolton CID said: “We know that coming forward to report sexual offences can be difficult, but no one should ever feel alone in such circumstances, and we will do all we can to provide you with the necessary support and help get justice.
