After Ahmed Fahmy Barnet Rapist won the confidence of four women he then went on to attack; the hotel employee was found guilty of multiple sexual assaults and rape.
Detectives started an inquiry and detained Ahmed Fahmy within hours of separate reports of rape and sexual assault connected to him on January 21, 2024.
On Thursday, July 25, Hendon Magistrates Court found 45-year- Ahmed Fahmy, of West Heath Drive, NW11, guilty of one act of rape and three counts of sexual assault following a two-week trial. September 20 will find him punished at the same court.
Leading the inquiry, Detective Constable James Gomm said: “Ahmed Fahmy showed a clear pattern of offending where he abused his position as a hotel staff to get close to his victims and carry out his crimes.
“I want to thank all the victim-survivors for their bravery over this inquiry. Some of the crimes in this case occurred some years ago; some victim-survivors felt more suited to assist the investigation now that time had elapsed following their first disclosures.
“I want to thank those victim-survivors for supporting our inquiry; I do not undervalue for a moment the effect revisiting what happened would have had on them. Your courage has enabled another woman to be protected and a sexual offender behind bars.
“There may be other victims of Ahmed Fahmy, and if so, I would urge them to get in contact with police immediately – you will be listened to and given support.”
Four women at the Anchor Hotel on Golders Green’s West Heath Drive split apart during a night out on January 19, 2024. Three returned early, but their companion carried the room key. Claiming he had no spare key, hotel employee Ahmed Fahmy asked £80 for a different room. One woman obliged, but Fahmy licked her foot twice in her room over her objections.
Later, returning, the fourth woman lost her key, and Ahmed Fahmy lured her into his bedroom and sexually assaulted her. The following day, the party changed lodging.
Police located the distraught rape victim in Regents Park on January 21. Her reporting of the rape resulted in Ahmed Fahmy’s detention. Another group member also claimed Fahmy had sexually assaulted her.
Detectives linked Ahmed Fahmy to two additional past sexual attacks involving foot contact. Every victim received particular assistance. At Hendon Magistrates Court, Fahmy was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault in addition to rape.
