The career of a disgraced Newbuildings Paedophile GP, Alan Trevor Campbell, was irrevocably damaged today (Thursday) after he confessed to possessing photographs and videos of youngsters being sexually exploited.

At Downpatrick Crown Court, 40-year-old Alan Trevor Campbell pleaded guilty to all 11 charges, which included five counts of possession and six counts of creation of indecent photographs of children.

Alan Trevor Campbell, a registered general practitioner from Silverbrook Park, Newbuildings in Derry, confessed to possessing pictures and films classified as categories A, B, and C, as per an indictment dated between 17 October 2014 and 13 January 2022.

Legal rules classify photographs into three categories: Level A includes depictions of children engaged in penetrative sexual activities, such as rape, or in situations involving sadomasochism or bestiality; Level B pertains to non-penetrative sexual actions; and Level C encompasses any material not classified under categories A or B.

The court did not disclose any background data or circumstances of the case; nevertheless, after Alan Trevor Campbell’s guilty pleas, prosecution counsel Breige Gilmore affirmed that the defendant has a clean record.

Defence attorney Cameron Faulkner concurred that, aside from a pre-sentence report from the probation board, the defence team will not procure any additional reports prior to the plea and sentencing.

Emphasising that the confessions activate the stipulations of the police sex offenders registry, Judge Geoffrey Miller KC mandated that Alan Trevor Campbell be provided with the pertinent papers and sign the register “prior to his departure.”

The judge instructed Alan Trevor Campbell to contact his legal advisors to arrange an interview if he does not get communication from PBNI within the next two weeks, warning that “failure to attend without valid justification will result in sentencing without a report.”

“You can be assured that this will not serve your best interests,” Judge Miller said the self-admitted deviant.

The judge granted Alan Trevor Campbell continued bail until 24 June, stating, “These are grave offences – all options will be available to the court.”
