Andrew Bate paedophile rapist sex offender Warrington

Before starting a years-long campaign of abuse, a young Warrington Paedophile child rapist, Andrew Bate, made his victim watch obscene films.

Andrew Bate of Libson Close, Warrington, must serve an additional five years on licence after being locked up for twenty-one years.

He was found guilty of sixteen sexual offences against the young child — including rape; sexual assault; sexual activity with a child; and sexual touching.

The victim described how the crimes evolved over several years, first starting when she was compelled to see obscene films during a trial at Liverpool Crown Court.

After one incident, the abuse becomes more severe. Several times, Andrew Bate sexually assaulted and raped the child. To stop him, the victim claimed they feigned sleep. Whatever they did, he forced them anyway.

When the victim reported Andrew Bate in January 2023, his misconduct became clear. He refuted all accusations. Detective Constable Maurizio Lucchesi led the inquiry, saying, “First of all, I want to commend the victims for their bravery over this inquiry.

“Andrew Bate is a sexual predator, driven just towards his enjoyment. He showed no respect for the victim and even refused to enter a guilty plea to any one of the accusations against him despite all the proof against him. Instead, he made his victim go back over their events in court—a complex process for them.

“Thank goodness for the victim’s bravery and the proof we obtained; the jury has seen through his falsehoods, and he is now being held responsible for his deeds. Knowing that he will never be able to do the same to any other child, I hope the term given to Andrew Bate will provide the victim with some closure and enable them to get on with their life.

Andrew Bate was told to follow a lifetime sexual harm prevention plan and sign the sex offender register.

” Nobody should have to experience what the victim has been through, and if anything can come from this case, I hope that it encourages other victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them to us.” DC Lucchesi said.
