Paedophile Andrew Grant, of Queen Street, Bampton, received a 54-month term for seeking to engage in sexual communication with a minor, being an adult who sought to meet a girl after grooming, arranging or assisting sexual activity with a child, and driving without third-party insurance.
Andrew Grant, 58, received his sentence at a hearing held at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, November 29.
Andrew Grant was charged with attempting to initiate sexual communication with a child aged 14 in Eynsham between November 22, 2022, and February 18, 2023.
During the same timeframe, he was said to have attempted to meet the girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, at Oxford Train Station following a period of grooming.
Andrew Grant was additionally charged with orchestrating the commission of a sexual offence involving a minor in Eynsham during the same timeframe.
His driving violations occurred on February 18 of the previous year on Park End Street, at Oxford Train Station, in a Nissan X-Trail.
In addition to incarceration, he received six penalty points on his driving licence for the traffic violation.
Andrew Grant was issued a sexual harm prevention order and registered as a sex offender, both indefinitely.
He was permanently prohibited from engaging with minors and vulnerable individuals.
