A 55-year-old Canonbie Paedophile, Andrew Jackson, has received a 16-year sentence for sexual abuse offences in the Dumfries region. Andrew Jackson of Canonbie was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday, 17 June 2025.
His offences occurred between 2002 and 2019 and involved five victims, two of whom were minors at the time.
Andrew Jackson was apprehended by law enforcement in July 2022 and convicted in April of current year.
Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson of the Public Protection Unit in Dumfries stated, “Regardless of the elapsed time since a crime was perpetrated, we will employ all available resources to guarantee that the perpetrators are apprehended and prosecuted.” Andrew Jackson is currently incarcerated, no longer capable of causing harm to others.
“We recognise the immense challenge victims face in coming forward to recount their experiences of abuse, and I wish to express my gratitude to those who have chosen to speak with us.” I trust this result will assist them as they go in their lives.
