Andrew Street Willand Paedophile
Andrew Street Willand Paedophile

A Willand Paedophile, Andrew Street, has received a 30-year prison sentence for rape and further sexual offences perpetrated against three minors.

Andrew Street, 64, of Rowes Orchard, Willand, was jailed at Exeter Crown Court last week after being convicted at trial of 13 charges, including the rape of a girl under 14, attempted rape, indecent assault on a female under 16, and assault on a child under 13.

The incidents occurred in the Tiverton region over several years.

To facilitate his misconduct, Andrew Street issued several warnings on the consequences if the victims disclosed the abuse to anybody. He assaulted one of the victims after escorting her to a barn to view some kittens.

Certain offences ceased only when Andrew Street was incarcerated for other sexual crimes unconnected to this matter.

The assault significantly impacted the courageous victims, who were compelled to testify at trial due to Street’s resistance to acknowledge his actions.

Detective Inspector Paula Trevett said: “We welcome the sentence passed by the court which means Andrew Street will spend many years behind bars.

“But this case isn’t about him. It is about the three victims whose immense courage means that a dangerous sexual predator is now serving a very lengthy sentence for the sickening abuse he carried out.

“Without them, Street would still be going about his daily life so I’d like to thank them for remaining engaged with proceedings and for the bravery they have shown throughout.

“This case shows that we will continue to thoroughly investigate reports of rape and sexual abuse regardless of when the offences took place.”
