Three women who were sexually assaulted in a Hitchin pub have an officer,PC Andrew Wild, banned from law enforcement.
On March 30, 2022, PC Andrew Wild attacked the three women on a night out at Osinsky’s Bar & Grill in Market Place.
Before grasping a second woman’s bottom as she was bent over a pool table in the pub, the 51-year-old whacked one of the women on the bottom.
Walking from the pub to Hitchin Train Station, PC Andrew Wild, a first contact officer handling sexual assault victims, then hit a third victim, once more on the bottom.
Herts police have now decided to forbid the officer from patrolling following a misconduct inquiry after he was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault by a jury at Southwark Crown Court on May 22 this year.
“It is severe that PC Andrew Wild has a criminal conviction for sexual assault based on his behaviour towards three females,” stated Hertfordshire Constabulary Chief Constable Charlie Hall.
“Policing exists to safeguard women and look into illegal activity. Police personnel cannot be allowed to be sexual assault offenders.
“I do not doubt that his views might erode more public faith in law enforcement. I must show the staff that this is unacceptable and that we must discourage such behaviour as we advance.
“PC Andrew Wild’s case is so serious that I find the only reasonable sanction I can impose is to dismiss him from the police service under notice and ask that his name be added to the College of Policing barred list.”
