Roche Paedophile Benjamin Frost, previously granted an opportunity for rehabilitation for possessing approximately one million abhorrent child abuse photographs in 2020, has been incarcerated nearly five years later for continuing to produce indecent images post-release.

On October 15, 2020, Benjamin Frost, 37, received a community order and an opportunity for rehabilitation at Truro Crown Court. Notwithstanding his release, he has subsequently violated that order four times and was discovered in possession of further indecent photographs.

Benjamin Frost, residing on Tregeagle Road in Roche, attended Truro Crown Court for a sentencing hearing on Thursday, April 17, after pleading guilty to one count of producing indecent pictures and four counts of violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The first injunction he violated was established in 2020 when Benjamin Frost was discovered in possession of roughly one million sexual photos depicting the rape and abuse of children. He then admitted guilt to three charges of possessing indecent photos of minors.

Ramsay Quaife, defending, then told the court: “Benjamin Frost’s got to leave the virtual world behind and get into the real world. He could go to prison but society is better served with him getting the help he needs.” A judge agreed that he needed help and wouldn’t get it in prison.

Today, nearly five years on, the court was told Benjamin Frost’s order was due to expire in October of this year but in January Devon and Cornwall Police was alerted by the National Crime Agency that Benjamin Frost had been uploading Cat A indecent images of children.

Officers attended Benjamin Frost’s home address and seized a mobile phone and took him in for questioning. On examining his mobile phone device there were two apps capable of storing images, one of which was encrypted and Frost refused to provide his fingerprint to unlock it.

At the hearing Benjamin Frost’s barrister said the “penny has dropped” and Benjamin Frost accepts that he deserves to be punished. He said the defendant would have been “appalled” if the children in the pictures were loved ones of his own. He also put forward that it was a “small” number of images and sought to argue that he could still be a candidate for a community order.

Sentencing, His Honour Judge Simon Carr, said a programme attended by Benjamin Frost “entirely failed to stop [his] offending.” “That such a course had such little effect leads me to conclude that you present a very real risk of future offending,” he said.

He told Benjamin Frost that his “entrenched sexual interest in children” cannot currently be managed within the community. Judge Carr sentenced Benjamin Frost to 15 months in prison. He will serve 40 per cent before release.
