The men’s identities were first concealed, provoking a vehement outcry, as West Midlands Police asserted that disclosing their names could infringe upon their human rights.
The paedophiles from Birmingham Grooming Gang were prohibited from approaching the girl until she reached the age of 18 and were restricted from having interaction with girls under 18 whom they did not already know.

The Birmingham Grooming Gang men’s names – Mohammed Anjam, 31, Omar Ahmed, 27, Naseem Khan, 29, Mohammed Javed, 34, Alam Shah, 37, and Sajid Hussein, 40 – were made public on November 19 2014.
