Bobby Schmedeman, a convicted paedophile, has been imprisoned for violating a court order by neglecting to disclose his electronic equipment to authorities.

Bobby Schmedeman, 44, was contacted by law enforcement personnel at his residence in Isleham, near Ely, at approximately 3 PM on December 9 of the previous year.

Subsequent to his conviction for possessing indecent images of children in June 2017, he received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) mandating that he make internet-enabled devices accessible to a police officer upon request and inform an officer within three days of acquiring any device capable of internet access.

An officer instructed him to submit all of his internet-enabled gadgets, and Bobby Schmedeman asserted that he possessed only his Xbox.

Nevertheless, the officer discovered evidence indicating that Bobby Schmedeman had access to an Apple device and an iPad, contrary to his assertions.

The cops apprehended him and conducted a search of his bedroom, where they discovered an iPad, a Samsung tablet, and a mobile phone, none of which he had disclosed to the police.

They also discovered a sword, a knife, a flick knife, and claws for both feet and hands.

A new laptop was found that Bobby Schmedeman had not declared.

All the devices were seized and inspection of the iPad and Samsung tablet uncovered 27 illicit images of children.

They attended his home again on 22 May this year and seized more devices he had failed to tell officers about.

On Friday (6 December), at Cambridge Crown Court, Bobby Schmedeman, of Kennedy Road, Isleham, was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years.

He had pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children, eight counts of breaching a SHPO, possession of a flick knife and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place at an earlier hearing.

DC Andrew McKeane said: “This case shows our commitment to enforcing court orders to protect people from harm.

“Bobby Schmedeman knows the requirements of his SHPO so I hope this suspended sentence serves a warning.”
