A child molester Stoke-on-Trent Paedophile, Bobby Whalley, has been sentenced after committing 17 offences in Staffordshire. Bobby Whalley, 26, from Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, groomed the victims several years prior in Newcastle-under-Lyme before initiating sexual approaches both in person and via text messages.

A survivor courageously recounted the events of 2020, compelling our detectives to initiate an investigation.

We successfully constructed a compelling case against Bobby Whalleyand assisted numerous survivors, resulting in a substantial number of charges filed against him.

Whalley refuted the occurrence. In September of the previous year, the case proceeded to trial, and due to the robustness of our evidence and the courage of the survivors, the jury found Bobby Whalley guilty on 17 counts of inducing a child to participate in sexual behaviour.

On Monday, April 14, he was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, accompanied by an extended licence period of three years.

Detective Constable Keri Inskip, from our public protection unit, said: “Another dangerous child sex offender has been sent to prison because of the immense courage that the survivors showed in coming forward and telling someone what he did.

“We know there are other survivors out there, and we want you to know that we’re here to help you and to act robustly against those responsible for these appalling crimes.”
