Brett Peterson Skillington Rapist

A Skillington Rapist, Brett Peterson, who exploited his position of trust to perpetrate sexual offences against a vulnerable lady has been sentenced to five years and eight months in prison.

Brett Peterson, residing on Buckminster Lane in Skillington, pleaded guilty to nine counts of engaging in sexual conduct with a patient prior to his sentencing at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 9 May.

The 55-year-old, Brett Peterson, was employed for the Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust when he interacted with the woman.

His role was to assist her, offer financial counsel, and navigate her through a challenging phase in her life.

However, Brett Peterson instead exploited and coerced the woman into engaging in sexual actions in the Bourne region over an 18-month duration from 2019 to 2020.

Brett Peterson utilised his understanding of the woman’s history and psychological condition to initiate a connection.

The former NHS worker was eventually exposed and subsequently arrested where he admitted to carrying out the offences.

Today, Brett Peterson was jailed, given an indefinite restraining order and an indefinite place on the sex offenders register for his actions.

The result brings to a close a lengthy investigation carried out by Detective Constable Victoria Oakes who said Peterson should be ashamed.

She said: “Brett Peterson abandoned his conscience over an 18-month period where he took advantage of a vulnerable woman who looked to him for help.

“He used his position and knowledge to groom her and should be ashamed of his actions.

“Brett Peterson in no way represents the empathy, compassion and care exhibited by people in our health service and we do not recognise him as part of that community.

“I’d like to pay tribute to the victim in this case who has our respect for her courage. And while we know the road to recovery will be long, I hope this delivers some sense of justice.”
