Brian McCauley, an Armagh businessman accused of committing a sexual act in the presence of a child, is scheduled to appear at Crown Court next month.
Brian McCauley, from Jubilee Park, is also charged with sexual communication with a minor.
The 48-year-old attended Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal procedure in which a case is sent to a higher court.
During the first hearing, a prosecuting attorney asserted that there was a prima facie case against the prisoner.
Brian McCauley verified his identity and date of birth, stating that he had no objections to the conduct of a PE.
The court was informed that the purported violations took place on March 29, 2024, although the specifics of the case were not detailed.
The prosecution asserted that the documents presented to the court established a prima facie case, to which Deputy District Judge Rosie Watters concurred.
Brian McCauley was granted free on his own recognisance of £500 and is scheduled to reappear at Newry Crown Court on March 11 for arraignment.
