Callum Palfreyman, a paedophile from Derbyshire, has been sentenced to imprisonment for transmitting sexually explicit texts and photographs to a minor and soliciting a meeting for sexual purposes.

Callum Palfreyman, born on February 5, 1995, transmitted messages via Snapchat to a 13-year-old girl during the offence in April 2023, configuring them to auto-delete post-viewing in an effort to conceal his actions.

The event was revealed when the girl informed her mother about the messages, prompting a referral to the police.

Callum Palfreyman, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to counts of causing or persuading a minor to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual communication with a child, and was sentenced on 30 June.

The 30-year-old received a sentence of three years and nine months for the first offence, with an additional nine months to be served concurrently for the second offence.

He received an additional 10-month incarceration for an unrelated offence, resulting in a cumulative sentence of four years and seven months.

Detective Staff Investigator Bev Neville, who led the investigation, said:

“I’d like to thank the victim in this case for her bravery in coming forward and her patience in waiting for this case to be heard in court.

“Callum Palfreyman knew the victim’s age before contacting her and showed complete disregard for the fact that she was a child, thinking only of his own sexual gratification.

“His behaviour was predatory and I am pleased that the judge has seen fit to send Callum Palfreyman to prison due to the seriousness of his crime.”
