A 20-year-old Hatfield paedophile, Cameron William Mackenzie, was found in possession of child sexual assault images and videos, including some of babies, and will be sentenced next month.

Cameron William Mackenzie, of Jubilee Court, Hatfield, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 10.

Lauren Stone, prosecuting, said Mackenzie was arrested on July 1, 2022, after police were alerted by an upload he made to social media.

Ms Stone told the court that between March 29 and July 1, 2022, on the Isle of Wight, Cameron William Mackenzie made 40 images of category A (the most serious category) and nine images of category B, with 12 moving images of category A and two moving images of category B.

The prosecution said police determined that some of the photos were of children between one and two years old.

Michael McGoldrick, defending, requested magistrates to order a pre-sentence report and for the case to be sent to the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing.

Cameron William Mackenzie will be sentenced on November 8 and was granted unconditional bail until that time.
