A paedophile, Carl Huxley, who groomed a youngster and exchanged sexual communications, has been sentenced to four years and ten months in prison.

Carl Huxley, of no known address, was sentenced after his appearance before officials at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, December 13.

The 38-year-old was convicted of meeting a kid under 16 after sexual grooming and engaging in sexual communication with a minor in a prior hearing.

Carl Huxley impersonated a juvenile on social media in 2023 to establish rapport with his victim prior to orchestrating a meeting in Gainsborough.

They travelled to Lincoln, where he persisted in manipulating his victim by bestowing presents upon them throughout the day.

Carl Huxley subsequently reserved a double hotel room for them, but he was reported to the authorities prior to its utilisation.

DC Jones, involved in the case, commended the victim’s courage and the dedication of all who contributed to Carl Huxley’s prosecution.

She said: “Carl Huxley’s behaviour was, calculated, intentional and manipulative. This is wholly unacceptable and wildly inappropriate, showing a complete disregard for his victim’s age and wellbeing, for his own sexual gratification.

“This will not be tolerated in Lincolnshire and this sentence sends a strong message to any would-be criminals that they will be caught and dealt with.

“I’d like to thank the victim and their family for their courage throughout this process – without them we wouldn’t be here today.

“I’d also like to pay tribute to the police officers and staff involved in this investigation, it was a team effort, and this result would not have been possible without their hard work.
