Ettingshall Paedophile Carlos Fletcher incarcerated following the courageous actions of victims that facilitated convictions.

A man, Carlos Fletcher, who sexually assaulted a lady and extorted her with explicit photographs has been incarcerated following our collaboration with her and another victim to get his conviction.

Carlos Fletcher, who attempted to sexually assault a 14-year-old girl, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after the two women courageously reported the crimes.

With the assistance of our professionally trained officers, they facilitated the construction of the case against 23-year-old Fletcher.

In autumn 2020, the first girl informed us that in 2017, at the age of 14, Carlos Fletcher compelled her to participate in sexual acts with him frequently.

The pressure from him persisted as he began requesting nude photographs.

His second victim, approximately 20 years old at the time of the assault, reached out to us after disclosing the incident to a confidant.

She felt compelled to send him nude photographs, and he threatened to disseminate them to others if she did not provide him with money.

Our digital forensics specialists successfully extracted photographs from Carlos Fletcher’s phone and decrypted texts from him to provide convincing evidence to the trial jury.

Carlos Fletcher, residing on Junction Road in Ettingshall, Wolverhampton, refuted all allegations of rape, attempted rape of a minor, sexual conduct with a minor, inducing a minor to engage in sexual activity, and blackmail.

Following a five-day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, he was convicted on 9 April on all five charges. On 1 June, Carlos Fletcher received a 12-year prison sentence and was permanently registered as a sex offender.

District of Columbia David Powles of our Public Protection Unit stated, “The courage exhibited by these two women in approaching us and recounting their experiences has been crucial to this case.”

We have supported them during the inquiry, legal proceedings, and while they presented their testimonies to the court. This has led to Carlos Fletcher’s incarceration for an extended period, thereby safeguarding other women from his predatory behaviour.

“We anticipate that his conviction and imprisonment will assist these two brave women in their recovery from their traumatic experiences.”
