A victim who sustained head injuries from an assault involving a glass in a Maidstone pub has witnessed the perpetrator, Chay Hart, being incarcerated. On November 5, 2023, a man in his fifties was socialising at the establishment on Week Street when he engaged in conversation with Chay Hart.

The police reported that chicken oriental Chay Hart abruptly smashed his head with a glass in an unprovoked attack, resulting in the victim collapsing to the floor. Chay Hart subsequently struck him twice before being expelled from the premises.

The victim sustained lacerations to his head and forehead that subsequently necessitated 18 stitches in the hospital. The police were notified of the event, and patrols located and apprehended Chay Hart near Bishops Way.

Chay Hart, who has no permanent residence, was prosecuted and entered a guilty plea at Maidstone Crown Court for intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. On April 24, the 34-year-old received a jail term of four years and three months. Following his release from incarceration, he will be subjected to an extended licensing period of two years.
