After an undercover police officer caught him attempting to obtain sexual favours from a child online, Caerphilly Paedophile Christian Fish will not be imprisoned. Even though Fish also has rape, torture and sexual assault images of the worst kind.
For several offences, Christian Fish, 37, of Caerphilly, was sentenced to 24 months suspended at Cardiff Crown Court.
These included improper exposure, trying to have intercourse with a minor, and possessing obscene and illegal photos of a child.
It was heard in court that Christian Fish sought to have intercourse with a 14-year-old girl named “Izzy,” who was an undercover police officer.
Emily Jermin, the prosecutor, said: “Izzy got a friend request on Snapchat, and his user was recognised on August 21, at quarter past nine in the morning. ‘Izzy’ accepted that as a contact.
“A discussion started over two days. The defendant promptly sent an unwelcome picture of himself seated on the toilet with his penis visible.
“She said she was a 14-year-old girl. Another picture was given showing his bottom half with his penis raised.
The police officer responded with an image of a teenage girl when Christian Fish asked “Izzy” to forward a picture of herself.
The defendant reportedly sent several films of himself engaging in a sexual act to “Izzy,” and when “Izzy” responded, “I have never seen a man’s penis,” he claimed sending images to random persons on Snapchat turned him on.
Emily Jermin, the prosecutor, further said: “He supplied an extra film of himself engaging in a sexual act in public. Following his deed, the defendant remarked in the following chat with “Izzy,” “A woman saw him doing this.”
Officers reported to the court that they approached Christian Fish’s residence to arrest and caution him after learning the messages came from his IP address.
Photographs of the defendant’s belongings were obtained. This highlighted several clothes and objects in the backdrop of the pictures Izzy sent.
“In terms of the defendant’s devices, three Dell laptops, a USB stick and the defendant’s phone were taken into police custody,” said the prosecution.
On the devices, the police discovered three banned images: 49 Category A images, 27 Category B images, and 27 Category C images.
The Category B photographs contained a youngster between the ages of two and four; the Category A images showed children being sexually molested who seemed to be in great pain and suffering.
The prosecution also noted: “A further three prohibited images found adult women edited to look like children.”
Ross McQuillan Johnson, the defendant’s agent, said: “He understands there were no direct children in this case, but he appreciates these images depicted children who are real and that the trauma they will feel for the rest of their life is genuine and is extremely apologetic.”
“I have concluded that there is a possibility of rehabilitation with a high order of community support coupled with a custodial sentence and unpaid work, but you have avoided going to custody by a whisker,” the recorder, his honour J Powell, stated. The Judge’s insane decision was not questioned, and the paedophile skipped out of court.
