The Perry Barr Rapist, Cornel Filipeche has been incarcerated for sexually assaulting a lady in Perry Barr earlier this year.

In the early hours of 18 January, we received a report of a woman who had been assaulted and raped on Walsall Road in Perry Barr.

An inquiry was initiated, and we released a CCTV appeal to ascertain the perpetrator’s identity.

A substantial volume of information was obtained from the public, and investigators worked tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrator.

Three days subsequently, Cornel Filipeche was apprehended.

Subsequent to a comprehensive inquiry, which included courageous testimony from the victim, the 21-year-old was indicted for rape, robbery, and infliction of severe bodily harm.

Cornel Filipeche, residing on Hawthorn Road, pleaded guilty to all three crimes on 20 February and was sentenced to ten years in jail today, 6 June. He was additionally mandated to serve an additional five years under supervision.

Cornel Filipeche was additionally mandated to register on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
