Dane Oldham Glossop Rapist, who sexually assaulted a lady, leaving her with flashbacks and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), got six years behind bars.
Early in the morning, Dane Oldham executed the awful attack on the woman attending a Glossop address.
She reported what had happened to authorities soon after, and he was arrested. He was later charged with rape.
The woman described in her victim impact statement the changes the rape had caused in her life: “This incident has flipped my life upside down. I shall always carry this with me forever. Even now, PTSD affects me. I have had counselling for it. “I have nightmares, flashbacks from the time it happened. Cold sweats, panic attacks, punching, and kicking out in my sleep will greet me when I wake up. I have difficulty with relationships and trusting others. I still have sadness and anxiety, feel terrible and worthless, and hate myself for what occurred. Apart from my present one, all my relationships since it happened have fallen apart and lacked longevity.
Denying the offences, Dane Oldham, 33, of Uplands Road, Glossop, entered an admission on the opening day of his trial at Manchester Crown Court in April. Appearing at the same court on May 13, he was imprisoned for six years and directed to serve at least four years. He also signed the sex offenders’ register and received a 12-year restraining order barring him from contacting the woman.
