Dane Oldham Glossop Rapist has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually assaulting and raping a lady leaving her suffering from flashbacks and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Early in the morning, Dane Oldham attacked the woman at an address in Glossop with great violence.

Soon after she reported what had happened to authorities, he was detained and charged with rape.

The woman described in her victim impact statement the changes the rape had caused in her life: “This incident has flipped my life upside down. I shall live my life always carrying this with me.

“I have PTSD and still suffer now; I have had counselling for it.

From the moment it happened, I have experienced dreams and flashbacks. Cold sweats, panic episodes, punching, and kicking out in my sleep will wake me. I still suffer from melancholy and anxiety, feel guilty and inadequate, and hate myself for what occurred.

“I have battled relationships and faith in others. Apart from my present one, all of my relationships since it happened have fallen apart and not endured.

Denying the offences, Dane Oldham, 33, of Uplands Road, Glossop, entered an admission on the opening day of his trial at Manchester Crown Court in April. Appearing at the same court on May 13, he was imprisoned for six years and directed to serve at least four years. In addition, he signed the sex offender register and received a 12-year restraining order keeping him away from the victim.
