A teaching assistant Gillingham Paedophile, Daniel Abraham, who exploited a child to fulfil a deviant desire, has evaded incarceration.
Daniel Abraham confessed to sexually assaulting the girl while employed at a school in Sittingbourne.
Maidstone Crown Court was informed that the offences occurred over five years ago, resulting in the victim being so disturbed that she disposed of all her school photographs.
It was only after the 35-year-old was terminated for an unrelated incident that she informed her family.
Prosecutor Daniel Stevenson stated that Daniel Abraham had received training designed to protect students, yet was observed embracing a youngster.
He stated that Daniel Abraham was reported to the authorities after being observed gazing at children during their change, resulting in his suspension and subsequent termination.
The prosecutor stated that the victim subsequently communicated with her mother and revealed the events that transpired.
Daniel Abraham, residing on Lawrence Street in Gillingham, was apprehended in November 2020 but originally refuted the accusations and denied had a sexual interest in minors, although his interest in adolescent pornography.
The victim subsequently informed the authorities in a statement: “Following his actions, I was fearful of attending school, fearful of him.” I have discarded all photographs from that period as I am unable to view them.
“I believe I have lost a fragment of my childhood.” I desire for him to feel remorse for his actions towards me.
In a written statement, her mother informed the judge that hearing the details of his actions was “heartbreaking.”
Defence attorney Craig Evans stated: “He reflects with revulsion and genuine remorse for his actions and the consequences they had on his victim and her family.”
“Following his actions, I was apprehensive about attending school, fearful of him…”
He grapples with understanding the factors that contributed to this offence. In fulfilling his own curiosity, he has inflicted unwarranted injury and misery onto others.
Daniel Abraham received a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was mandated to undertake therapy for his sexual offences.
He sat with his head lowered as the judge mandated him to complete 120 hours of community service without compensation.
Daniel Abraham, having confessed to two sexual assaults, is now prohibited from any future employment involving minors and is required to register as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years.
Judge Julian Smith stated that Daniel Abraham had been regularly cautioned on his conduct near minors but chose to engage in actions “that fulfilled his sexual interest.”
Upon departing the dock, an advocate for the victim’s family issued a threat towards him and was cautioned by a court staff member.
