A 40-year-old man, Daniel Stacey Ipswich Paedophile, who engaged in covert communication with a 14-year-old girl, following the act of providing her with a mobile phone, and subsequently rendezvoused with her in a park, has been sentenced to a period of incarceration lasting 21 months.
Judge Emma Peters, presiding over the case at Ipswich Crown Court, stated that Daniel Stacey had engaged in six encounters with the underage girl within two weeks in September of the previous year.
According to her, Daniel Stacey had prior arrests for producing inappropriate photos, and it was evident that he had a strong sexual attraction towards young children, which is concerning.
Judge Peters acknowledged that his physical interaction with the victim was limited to holding her hand and making attempts to kiss and hug her.
Nevertheless, she stated that Daniel Stacey had expressed his love for the girl, which she deemed as “highly inappropriate” given the age difference of 26 years, with the girl being 14 and Stacey being 40.
Judge Peters stated that Daniel Stacey provided the child with a cell phone, which she utilised to communicate with him. Additionally, he also furnished her with a computer game.
Upon discovering the phone, the girl’s mother phoned the police. In an attempt to retrieve the gadget, Daniel Stacey approached the girl’s mother and requested that she return it while also urging her not to involve the police.
Daniel Stacey, residing at Sproughton Court in Ipswich, confessed to engaging with a minor after engaging in sexual manipulation and violating a sexual harm prevention order.
He received a prison sentence of 21 months and was issued an indefinite restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and her family.
In addition, he was issued a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and mandated to register as a sex offender for the same length of time.
According to the court proceedings, Daniel Stacey, who received a community order in 2008 for producing inappropriate photos of minors, had been detained for ten months, which is equivalent to a prison sentence of 20 months.
Charles Myatt, representing Daniel Stacey, stated that his client experienced cognitive challenges and had an underdeveloped emotional maturity.
He stated that due to his emotional immaturity, he was attracted to those younger than him. Still, he wanted to clarify that he was not a predatory paedophile.
