After confessing to raping a five-year-old daughter and possessing pornographic photos and films involving his victim, 22-year-old Paedophile Darrell Nelson of Meadow Head appeared at Sheffield Crown Court for punishment.
Early this year, the little child bravely revealed that Darrell Nelson had been engaging in sexual activities; an investigation was started right away.
Strong proof of Darrell Nelson assaulting the girl was obtained by specialist police interviewing her; hence, he had no option except to enter a guilty plea.
Said by the investigating authorities as “a story of nightmares,” Darrell Nelson had terrified his victim into not reporting his actions and had movies of him mistreating her on his cell phone.
Darrell Nelson mistreated his victim in her bedroom in her own house, an area she ought to have felt comfortable in. She told officials in her interviews that she felt “frozen” and “scared.”
From the Sheffield Protecting Vulnerable People Team, investigating officer PC Jane Guest said: “The little girl at the core of this investigation has shown tremendous bravery throughout. She is a fearless small child.
“No child should have to go through Nelson’s despicable acts; no family should have to live through either.
“I would want to reassure anyone who suffers sexual assault or violence that we are here for victims; we are here to make sure dangerous offenders are locked up. Don’t hesitate to speak up.
Darrell Nelson showed up at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday (Monday, 15 July) and was sentenced to 14 years and three months, with an additional six years for being a dangerous criminal, totalling 20 years and three months.
Darrell Nelson also registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
