The Reading Rapist, David Cameron, has been incarcerated for rape and additional charges in Reading subsequent to a Thames Valley Police investigation.

David Cameron, 45, of Bankside Close, Reading, was sentenced to 20 years of jail, with an additional 6 years to be spent on parole, at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, 28 May.

David Cameron was convicted of four charges of rape, one count each of perverting the course of justice, witness intimidation, actual bodily harm (ABH), sexual assault by penetration, criminal damage, strangling, suffocation, threats to kill, and coercive control after a trial.

David Cameron was acquitted of three charges of rape, one charge of purposeful strangling, one charge of violence, one charge of coercive controlling conduct, and three charges of actual bodily harm.

David Cameron was arrested on 2 December 2023 after allegations of abuse extending over a period of 8 years.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Ben Rimmer said: “David Cameron committed violent and unacceptable acts on his victim.

“This kind of assault and abuse is never acceptable and I hope this conviction and lengthy custodial sentence shows that we listen, investigate fully and take every action possible to safeguard victims against offenders.

“I would encourage any victims of assault and abuse to come forward to police or other support agencies.
