David Margrie Norfolk Paedophile has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a series of sexual offences occurring over a period exceeding 40 years.
David Margrie, 66, of St Edmunds Close, Attleborough, was sentenced today (Wednesday, 5 February 2025) at King’s Lynn Crown Court to 16 years of imprisonment and a further 6 years on licence.
He was convicted of 14 offences against three victims after a trial at Norwich Crown Court in October 2024. The charges comprised rape, child rape, and indecent assault, occurring between 1970 and 2018.
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Natalie McCormack said: “David Margrie carried out a relentless cycle of abuse over decades, causing long-lasting effects on his victims that have impacted their entire lives.
“I want to commend the bravery of these three victims who gave their evidence in court. They were so strong coming forward and have waited a long time to hear the sentencing today. I am grateful that justice has been served.
“I hope this outcome will reassure other victims that they can feel confident about coming forward and that they will be listened to when reporting similar incidents to police.”
