Seven years in prison have been awarded to the Worthing Rapist David Pacera who seriously sexually assaulted and raped a woman.
After his victim was able to document the attack on her phone, 42-year-old David Pacera, of no permanent address, was found guilty of four serious sexual crimes.
A lady claimed on January 3 that Pacera had sexually attacked her at a Worthing property.
While an inquiry was quickly started, the victim—who enjoys lifetime anonymity—was protected and supported by professional police.
Later that day, Pacera was arrested and charged with rape, attempted rape, digital penetration and sexual assault.
An audio clip of the incident was played to the jury comprising the victim repeating “no” several times during a five-day trial at Chichester Crown Court.
Pacera was judged guilty on Friday, June 28, on all counts.
He was imprisoned for seven years at Hove Crown Court on Friday, July 5, with an indefinite Restraining Order and instructed to sign the Sex Offers’ Register for a lifetime.
“I would once again want to thank the victim for the amazing bravery and will she has shown to report this incident and support the investigation through to its conclusion,” said Detective Constable Ellie Treagust.
“Without her will, helped by an audio recording made during the horrific experience, we would not have been able to imprison a dangerous predator where he can cause no more harm to the public.”
