A 34-year-old male Liverpool Sex Offender, David Rose, has been sentenced to eighteen months in prison for sexually assaulting a lady at Birmingham New Street Railway Station.
David Rose of Langsdale Street, Liverpool, was convicted of two charges of sexual assault after a weeklong trial at Birmingham Crown Court that ended on Friday, 28 March.
He received an 18-month prison sentence and was mandated to pay a victim surcharge of £187.
On Sunday, 28 March of the previous year, the court was informed that Rose approached a 19-year-old lady seated on a bench outside the customer reception at Birmingham New Street station.
Following their talk, David Rose sexually abused her.
She requested assistance from the railway personnel, who unhelpfully relocated her to the reception area; however, David Rose pursued her and resumed her seat beside her. Upon his ultimate departure from the waiting area, the woman courageously informed the staff of her experience.
Staff contacted British Transport Police and on officer arrival they found David Rose sat in the waiting room where he was arrested.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Aaron Murdoch said: “This was an traumatising incident for the victim, who was preyed upon by David Rose. She showed incredible bravery assisting with the investigation
