David Valentine Denmead Paedophile, a child molester, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for the sexual assault of two girls, during which he severely compromised their sense of safety and privacy.

David Valentine, described as “particularly remorseless,” sexually raped one girl in Havant many times between the ages of 6 and 13.

He subsequently sexually attacked another girl in Hedge End over 20 years ago, when she was aged between 10 and 11.

During the sentencing at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday, the judge remarked that he had “objectified their bodies” and deemed him a threat to society.

David Valentine, 57, was convicted by a jury of indecent assault, child penetration under the age of 13, and two charges of penetration assault after a six-day trial.

David Valentine, residing on Hambledon Road in Denmead, received a nine-year prison sentence, accompanied by a four-year extension to his licence period.

Police Staff Investigator Samantha Nother, leading the cases from the Eastern Child Abuse Investigation Team, stated: “I am very pleased to see David Valentine face justice.” The duplicity and absence of contrition further underscore the peril posed by David Valentine.

It is crucial to highlight that the case against David Valentine was made possible by the young victim’s fortitude in disclosing the abuse to her family and the bravery of the initial victim in recounting the details of her past abuse.

“Their exemplary courage has enabled us to hold him accountable for his actions, resulting in a substantial and fitting custodial sentence.”

“We recognise that each instance of abuse is distinct and affects individuals differently, and we collaborate with each victim accordingly.” Regardless of whether victims report the abuse immediately or after many years, we will consistently treat their disclosures with seriousness and without judgement.

Individuals impacted by sexual assault may contact the police at 101 to speak confidentially with an officer.

The police acknowledge that not all individuals possess the confidence to communicate their experiences to law enforcement and aim to reassure the public that alternative services exist, providing specialised support to assist in coping with the effects of abuse.

Assistance for victims is available on the Hampshire Constabulary website.
