A dangerous Edmonton sex offender, Dean Burke, who pursued a lady from the McDonald’s on Seven Sisters Road and subsequently assaulted her was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court.
Dean Burke, from Edmonton, received a 21-month prison sentence and will be listed on the sex offenders registry for 10 years following his sexual attack of a lady in December.
The survivor was en route home following an evening out when she paused at McDonald’s. She listened to music through her headphones while walking home.
Upon arriving at her destination, she extracted her keys. She sensed a touch on her right hip. At that moment, she recognised Dean Burke standing near her.
He seized her with both hands, making contact with her upper body as she attempted to repel him.
Dean Burke then made contact with her via her garments – the survivor struggled and kicked in an attempt to escape. She shouted for assistance. Dean Burke fled.
CPS prosecutor Nim Hennessy stated: “This was a harrowing assault by an unknown assailant who trailed the victim to her residence and attacked her at the entrance.”
This individual is unequivocally a perilous sexual predator who will now serve a prison sentence for his offence.
“We anticipate that this conviction, supported by a robust police investigation, offers some solace to the victim.”
CCTV footage captured Dean Burke purchasing food at McDonald’s soon prior to the assault. The police obtained his McDonald’s receipt and, through financial investigations, successfully identified his information and apprehended him.
