A ‘malicious’ rapist, Delroy May, from Milton Keynes has been sentenced to imprisonment for rape and making threats to kill.

Delroy May, 58, of Bel Air Grove, was found guilty by a unanimous jury at Aylesbury Crown Court.

He was convicted of rape, actual bodily harm, intentional strangling, threats to kill, and attacking two emergency personnel.

The trial ended on February 4.

On February 14, Delroy May reappeared in court and received a ten-year prison sentence.

He was additionally registered as a lifelong sex offender and issued a permanent restraining order against his victim.

On July 22, 2024, at approximately 3:25 AM, police were notified by a member of the public who had been informed by a lady in her forties that she had been raped at Glebe Farm.

The victim sustained observable injuries to the face and neck that required hospitalisation.

Delroy May was apprehended and, while in detention, assaulted two police officers.

He was indicted and detained on July 23, 2024.

At his trial, Delroy May pleaded not guilty but was unanimously convicted by the jury.

Detective Sergeant Lucy Jarrett of Milton Keynes CID said: “Delroy May is a malicious individual who committed abhorrent offences against his victim in this case.

“I would like to praise the victim for her incredible courage throughout the investigation and trial.

“Thames Valley Police are committed to bringing offenders who commit violence against women and girls to justice.

“Delroy May was dealt with swiftly and robustly after his arrest, and I am pleased he has been given a substantial prison sentence as a result of his offending.

“Delroy May also committed violence against police officers, which will never be tolerated.

“I hope that this conviction and sentence will serve as some solace for the victim, who I hope can put this behind her as best as she can and move on with her life.”
