Over more than two decades, Derek Lamond Dunfermline Paedophile, 59, of Arthur Street, raped and sexually assaulted two girls in cars, at the girl’s house and his home in Fife that he shared with his wife, Marion.
Derek Lamond had contested many allegations during a High Court in Edinburgh trial, but he was found guilty of the ten counts a jury was asked to render decisions on.
He was found guilty of a tenth and unanimously convicted of nine crimes by a majority decision. Among the charges were rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and indecent behaviour.
Derek Lamond started his sex crime frenzy in 1995 and carried on till 2017. He went after targets in Dunfermline, Steelend, and other areas.

In 2017, Derek Lamond was set free to keep offending:
Following a judge’s agreement with his lawyer’s appeals, a paedophile who sexually abused a 14-year-old girl at her own house avoided incarceration in 2017.
Having a past conviction for a related act, Derek Lamond was tagged for ten months following the judge’s ruling, stating the public could be better safeguarded with a community-based punishment.
Looking inside her clothing at her breasts and stroking her on the breast, the 51-year-old farm worker from Dunfermline, Scotland, confessed to sexually assaulting the girl on May 10 this year, the Daily Record says.
Derek Lamond was scheduled for sentencing last month, 2017, but he was excused so he could travel on a pre-arranged holiday when his victim’s family showed up at court.
His barrister requested the judge not to imprison her client – or even assign community service – when he finally showed up for sentencing yesterday since he could be targeted by other cons offended by his acts.
Gwen Haggerty told Dunfermline Sherrif Court: “The danger is he would become a target. The press coverage has already drawn his attention; his car has been sprayed-painted.
“His offence would be known to the other offenders.”
At least one incidence has already occurred.
Paedophile Sheriff Derek Reekie advised Lamond: “This was a grave offence and, to say the very least, a most unpleasant one.
“What aggravates it further is that it occurred in the girl’s house.
“You also have a past conviction for a comparable offence in 2009.”
The judge declared unequivocally that the offence qualified for a prison sentence.
However, he said community-based sentencing would better guard the public.
He issued a community payback order whereby Derek Lamond would be tagged for ten months under a constraint of liberty order and supervision under another, but no unpaid work will be involved.
Derek Lamond will also keep three years on the register of sex offenders.
