Diljeet Grewal Hayes Rapist who arranged to meet a woman before raping and robbing her at knifepoint was jailed. Diljeet Grewal, 28, of Windsor Gardens, went to his victim’s Hillingdon home for a pre-arranged meeting on April 28.
As soon as he entered, he pulled out a knife and threatened the victim, a woman in her 30s, causing her to fear for her life.
Diljeet Grewal then went on to attack her for approximately two-and-a-half hours, leaving her with a number of injuries.
After the attack, Diljeet Grewal stole the woman’s phone and threatened her into handing over the cash from her handbag.
He then continued to ransack her room searching for more money, before fleeing the building.
After he left, the woman was able to call a friend who was outside the UK, who in turn contacted the police.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Diljeet Grewal still lurking outside the address.
Diljeet Grewal was arrested immediately and taken to a West London police station.
A search of the area around where he had been seen revealed a knife , which he denied was his, although forensic evidence proved it was the one used in the attack.
Diljeet Grewal was charged with rape and aggravated burglary on April 29, the day after the attack.
He was found guilty of rape, sexual assault and aggravated burglary at Isleworth Crown Court on August 3, 2019.
On November 1, he was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, with a further five years on licence upon release.
