Donovan Brown Birmingham Rapist

A man, Birmingham Rapist Donovan Brown, has been found guilty of soliciting a vulnerable woman on a night out in West Bromwich and subsequently transporting her to his residence in Birmingham, where he raped her.

Donovan Brown has been convicted of raping a female over the age of 16 after a trial at Birmingham Crown Court. The 38-year-old individual is scheduled to be sentenced at the same court on 25 April.

On the evening of 3 August last year, Donovan Brown had collected the woman, who had been inebriated, after a night out in West Bromwich. Despite the woman’s request for Brown to transport her home, he instead brought her to his residence in Perry Barr and sexually assaulted her.

The woman awoke at his residence on the morning of 4 August to discover Donovan Brown assaulting her. He then returned her to the location from which he had collected her, and she reported the assault to us.

We commenced our investigations and successfully obtained CCTV footage depicting Donovan Brown with the woman. Subsequently, we traced the route he travelled with her to his residence and apprehended Brown merely days later.

Her accurate and unwavering testimony, contrasted with Brown’s fluctuating narrative, resulted in his conviction.

DC Daniel Folley, from our public protection unit, said: “Due to the brave actions of this woman in coming forward we were able to secure a conviction for a dangerous individual who took advantage of her vulnerabilities whilst she was on a night out. We hope her bravery encourages other people subjected to sexual abuse to come forward.”
