A representative from the Metropolitan Police stated that on May 2, 2022, a lady in her thirties sought assistance from a driver on Morley Crescent, Stanmore. She informed the driver that she had been physically attacked by an unknown individual who had threatened her with a pair of pliers.
Law enforcement was summoned and promptly initiated an inquiry. Upon obtaining a statement from the victim, they proceeded to trace the path she had walked and successfully located an individual who closely resembled the description of the suspect in close proximity.
During the search, he was discovered in possession of two mobile devices, one of which was identified as belonging to the victim. He was apprehended and placed under arrest.
An extensive review of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage revealed the victim being chased by the perpetrator, as well as documenting the actual assault.
“Dragos Razvan Vacariu admitted to committing robbery, but the jury convicted him of both sexual assault and attempted rape.”
