Edenbridge cemetery rape police appeal

Investigators are seeking witnesses following a reported rape in Edenbridge. The incident reportedly occurred in a cemetery adjacent to Church Street on Saturday, November 9.

Kent Police said it was reported that a woman visiting the cemetery was “physically and sexually assaulted by an unknown man” between 9pm and 9.30pm. The suspect was described as “quite tall and of slim build”.

He was wearing a coat which may have had a fur hood. The incident was reported to police a few days later on Tuesday, November 12.

Officers are continuing to pursue several enquiries to establish the full circumstances, including forensic analysis at the scene, checks for CCTV and extensive house-to-house enquiries. They are also asking motorists with dashcam who may have been near the area, as well as businesses and residents with doorbell cameras or CCTV, to check for any important footage.
