A “dangerous” Woking paedophile, Edward Durlik, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for perpetrating internet sexual offences against three girls, one of whom was as young as eight years old.

Edward Durlik, a resident of Woking, fabricated numerous deceptive web identities to feign a comparable age, so securing the trust of his victims.

The 41-year-old, Edward Durlik, developed a points system to persuade a youngster to transmit sexual photographs and videos of herself, and would intimidate her into providing additional graphic content if she ceased communication with him.

The police were summoned when the father of one victim, the eldest being 14, discovered evidence of their conversations on his daughter’s phone.

Edward Durlik impersonated an 11-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy, and a 13-year-old girl, utilising photographs of a youngster he was acquainted with to facilitate his deceit.

Edward Durlik was apprehended in June 2023 on allegations of persuading a minor under 13 to participate in penetrative sexual behaviour.

A forensic analysis of Edward Durlik’s phone revealed 1,055 obscene photographs of youngsters, 258 of which were classified as Category A, the most severe category.

Edward Durlik was initially charged on 29 April 2024 with many counts of inducing females under 13 and 16 to participate in both penetrative and non-penetrative sexual activities, causing a child under 13 to observe a picture of sexual activity, and promoting the dissemination of obscene photos.

Edward Durlik was additionally charged with engaging in sexual conversation with a minor and producing and disseminating indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a minor.

At the sentencing on Friday at Guildford Crown Court, His Honour Judge Sellers characterised Edward Durlik as “dangerous” owing to the prolonged length of the offences and the extensive preparation involved, in addition to his manipulative conduct.

Edward Durlik received a further three-year extended licence, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a Deprivation Order, and was permanently registered on the Sex Offenders Register.

Detective Constable Steve Branch, from Surrey Police’s Online Investigation Team, characterised Edward Durlik’s offences as “abhorrent and calculated” and commended the courage of his victims for coming forward.
