A convicted Coventry Paedophile, Edward Hanbury, who expressed a preference for sexually assaulting females under the age of 10 and assaulted a small kid in a church, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

Edward Hanbury, residing at Calvert Court in Coventry, admitted guilt to six charges of sexual assault, encompassing several instances of inappropriate contact with minors under the age of 13, with some occurrences taking place at a church in Gloucestershire.

During a hearing at Gloucester Crown Court, the two victims articulated their feelings of being “terrified to leave the house” and “violated” by his conduct.

A family member said “rot in hell” as Edward Hanbury was escorted to the cells following a sentence of over seven years in prison.

Edward Hanbury, 62, possesses 15 prior convictions and was incarcerated for four years in 2012 for the sexual abuse of two minors under the age of 13.

The acts for which he was previously convicted occurred in a church, residence, and vehicle, as stated by the court.

In a statement presented by the prosecution, one victim expressed feeling “fearful of older men” following the sexual attacks and became “confrontational with men” in her vicinity.

Another victim, who testified in court, stated: “I have developed significant issues that persist to this day and find it difficult to trust anyone, particularly men.”

“I fear traversing any location where individuals might gaze at me and harbour similar thoughts as he did,” she remarked.

Judge Rupert Lowe stated that Hanbury developed a “severe alcohol addiction” following his release from prison and persisted in sexually abusing children for his own “sexual gratification,” exhibiting “no consideration for the significant psychological harm” inflicted.

These constitute the most egregious offences. “He stated that you are callous, selfish, and indifferent to the impact on your victims.”

Judge Lowe sentenced Edward Hanbury to a term of seven years and eight months in prison, indicating that he would serve a maximum of half of that duration in jail.
