The Norwich Paedophile, Francis Willers, convicted of raping and sexually assaulting two children over a three-year span has been sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison.

Francis Willers, 58, of Northumberland Street, Norwich, was sentenced today (Friday, June 6, 2025) at Norwich Crown Court after previously admitting to four acts of sexual conduct with a child under 13 and two counts of rape of a child under 13.

The offences occurred in Norwich from 2021 to 2024 and were revealed in December 2024 when the children informed their school teachers of the incidents. Francis Willers was apprehended shortly thereafter and indicted.

During today’s hearing, Francis Willers received a sentence of 12 and a half years of imprisonment, along with an additional two and a half years on license. He was additionally registered on the Sex Offenders Register for life and is subject to a perpetual Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Personal statements presented in court detailed the ongoing effects of Francis Willers’ abuse on his victims.

The court was told how one girl “used to be very cuddly – but isn’t as affectionate since this came out and now spends a lot of time on her own or in her room. It is noticeable how much she has distanced herself from everyone since this has happened”.

The other victim was described as “filled with anger” and often “shuts herself down”.

Following sentencing, Detective Constable Layla Rudd said “ I am proud of the strength and courage shown by the victims in this case.

“Despite their young age, they have shown tremendous bravery in coming forward and supporting the investigation.

“Francis Willers abused the trust placed in him by the victims to commit the most heinous of crimes, preying on their vulnerability over a prolonged period.

“Thanks to these very brave children and the support of their family members, Francis Willers is now behind bars. I hope the fact that Francis Willers can no longer harm anyone else brings some comfort to those he has hurt. [BUT HE CAN WHEN HE GETS OUT?]
