A Metropolitan Police detective Paedophile, Francois Olwage, has been convicted of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl while he was “on duty working from home.”
District of Columbia Francois Olwage, 52, journeyed 75 kilometres to see “Caitlin,” who was, in fact, an undercover investigator following his internet grooming of the individual.
Upon his arrest at a McDonald’s in Basingstoke, Hampshire, police discovered two condoms, a bottle of lubricant, and a packet of Tadalafil erectile dysfunction tablets in his bag.
A package of Ferrero Rocher chocolates was discovered, presumed to be a gift for the “girl,” and Francois Olwage was on the verge of purchasing a McFlurry for her.
Paedo Francois Olwage was on duty and telecommuting when he travelled from his residence in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in October.
The Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism officer, Francois Olwage, arranged to meet the “girl” after disclosing sexual actions he intended to do during two weeks of explicit communication.
The undercover cop referred to the girl as Smile Bear on the online chat platform Lycos, before transitioning to WhatsApp and addressing her as Caitlin.
Francois Olwage, a police officer with 19 years of service, had reserved a hotel room for the meeting.
The Winchester Crown Court convicted him of three child sexual crimes.
Detective Chief Superintendent Donna Smith stated that his arrest last year resulted from an extensive investigation conducted by Hertfordshire Police.
Francois Olwage informed the jury that he never perceived Smile Bear as a 13-year-old girl, but rather as an adult engaging in a fantasy.
The sex offender also refuted any sexual attraction to minors.
He was found guilty today of attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to get a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual behaviour, and attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 after grooming.
Francois Olwage confessed to inappropriately utilising his police authority and privileges to obtain “sexual gratification” at the commencement of the trial.
Judge Jane Miller QC instructed the jury to acquit him of orchestrating or enabling the perpetration of a child sex crime.
Francois Olwage will be detained and sentenced this month.
