The trial of a Bury St Edmunds Paedophile and 76-year-old man from Suffolk, Frank Bowyer, charged with many child sex offences, is postponed until June 2026 due to the backlog in the criminal court system.
Frank Bowyer of Ridley Road, Bury St Edmunds, attended Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday, November 12, for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
He entered a plea of not guilty to seven charges of sexual assault against a child under 13, seven charges of child penetration, and four charges of indecent assault.
The offences are purported to have occurred between January 2001 and 2011, involving three alleged victims.
Bowyer’s trial, which is expected to last seven days, will get underway on June 22 2026.
A pre-trial review will take place on January 23 2026.
Bowyer is on bail.
