Gabriel Hay Clapham Rapist SW4

Gabriel Hay, the 28 year old Clapham Rapist, has been incarcerated for rape and sexual offences subsequent to an extensive investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

Gabriel Hay (born 02.01.1997) of Gauden Road, SW4, received a 19-year prison sentence on Tuesday, 13 May, at Inner London Crown Court.

Gabriel Hay was convicted of rape, attempted rape, and two counts of sexual assault on Monday, 10 March, before the same court. The allegations pertain to several occurrences that transpired between 2014 and 2023.

In April 2023, Gabriel Hay encountered a woman while employed at a pub in Clapham. Gabriel Hay suggested that she and a companion continue their drinking at a different venue, where he would meet them. Upon concluding his shift, Gabriel Hay inundated her with drinks. Consequently, she got unsteady on her feet, and he escorted her from the pub to his residence—a property he shared with his mother—where he assaulted her.

The report of rape facilitated police in re-examining prior incidents that lacked adequate evidence and led to charges against Gabriel Hay.

In April 2014, Gabriel Hay committed a sexual assault by groping a woman in her 20s at a party in Clapham. In July 2016, he subsequently attempted to sexually assault her at his residence. In 2018, Hay also inappropriately touched another woman without consent in the rear of a taxi in South London.

Detective Sergeant Damian Jones, who let the Met’s investigation, said:

“While nothing can remedy Gabriel Hay’s horrific crimes, I hope this sentence brings closure to the three women – who have shown such resilience over the last few years – especially during the trial. It is because of them that we secured a conviction.

“This investigation has taken a dangerous individual off our streets. Our officers will continue to tackle violence against women and girls and put victim-survivors at the centre of our work. If you would like to come forward and make a report relating to Hay, you can contact police via 101 quoting 2532/21APR23.”
