A South Yorkshire Police officer, alleged Paedophile Gary Scott, charged with sexually assaulting a kid aged 10 or 11 will undergo a retrial due to the jury’s inability to reach a decision.
PC Gary Scott faced trial at Sheffield Crown Court, charged with three counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years said to have occurred between 2001 and 2003, prior to his enlistment in the police force.
PC Gary Scott, a response officer from Balby, Doncaster, was apprehended last September after a report was submitted to the force’s Professional Standards Department, subsequently pleading not guilty to all counts.
On 11 December at Sheffield Crown Court, the jury was dismissed, and a retrial date for Gary Scott was scheduled for 9 February 2026.
PC Gary Scott has been suspended from duty on full pay and is undergoing an internal misconduct investigation.
