A “deviant” Spennymoor Paedophile, Gavin Jackson, who disseminated images of himself abusing a youngster and surreptitiously photographed males changing has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
Gavin Jackson, 25, engaged in extensive communication, including thousands of messages and images, with other offenders online, after recording himself molesting a child, as presented in Teesside Crown Court.
He continued to gather and disseminate indecent photographs of minors even after his detention and subsequent release following the inquiry.
Gavin Jackson, a resident of Spennymoor, County Durham, confessed to 17 charges, encompassing voyeurism, the creation and distribution of indecent photos of minors, and the sexual assault of a child.
On 9 October 2023, police apprehended Gavin Jackson, a resident of Moorside, at his residence following intelligence regarding his possession of indecent photos of minors, stated prosecutor Ellen Wright.
Numerous devices were confiscated and downloads finalised, which were analysed over a year later on 11 November 2024, the court was informed.
Officers uncovered a folder labelled with a child’s name, including over 600 photographs of the child captured without their consent, including several of Jackson engaging in molestation.
The court heard that there were photographs of Gavin Jackson attempting to sexually assault a second kid, along with a collection exceeding 4,000 child sex abuse images, about 1,400 of which fell into the most severe category, featuring victims as young as four.
Authorities uncovered nearly 9,000 chats and 4,000 photographs of child sexual assault that Gavin Jackson had exchanged with another individual on Telegram during a 13-month span, Ms. Wright stated.
The court heard that Gavin Jackson had transferred 96 obscene photographs of minors, including 17 he had created of himself abusing a kid, to nine other offenders over WhatsApp and Telegram.
The court heard that three folders, each labelled with a different man’s name, had over 700 covertly captured photos of three guys changing at a venue in County Durham.
On 12 November, Gavin Jackson was re-arrested, and further gadgets were confiscated and examined, as presented in court.
The court was informed that a mobile phone contained further photographs of indecent minors that he had downloaded since his initial arrest.
In comments presented to the court, the mother of the child whom Gavin Jackson raped expressed her devastation at discovering the abuse, while the three men articulated feelings of “violation” and worry around the potential dissemination of intimate photographs of themselves online.
Judge Stephen Ashurst stated that Gavin Jackson had committed a range of “disturbing” and “deviant” acts, affirming that there was no doubt regarding his sexual interest in children and his deriving enjoyment from their abuse.
A sexual harm prevention order was issued, imposing indefinite restrictions on his future internet usage and interaction with youngsters.
